Guardian Ad Litem Appointments

When a child is the subject of a legal controversy, like a custody dispute, guardianship case or termination of parental rights matter, the Court may appoint an advocate for the child. That advocate is called a guardian ad litem. Many Courts in Wyoming appoint guardians ad litem routinely and as a matter of course to serve as an investigative arm of the Court and report as to the best interests of the child.
